Valerie Cornelis has inherited a house in Bruges. The only thing Valerie associates with this city is chocolate. And Valerie hates chocolate! But in Bruges, she reflects anew. She has actually set out to sell the unknown legacy of her deceased mother as soon as possible to eliminate the leftover mountain of debt. But hardly arrived in Bruges, the most impossible things happen. The planned short trip to Bruges will be a journey into a world she never dared dream of and in which she finds happiness.

Eleven-year-old Philipp, known as Lippel, travels from Passau in Bavaria to the Orient without a flying carpet: because his father, the posh chef Otto Mattenheim, is on a business trip, the new housekeeper Mrs. Jakob looks after Lippel. But she turns out to be a petty childish terror. And so Lippel escapes into an oriental dream world at night, in which his father, Mrs. Jakob and two classmates strangely appear. Lippel experiences the most amazing adventures in the Orient. His dreams help him and his classmates to chase the evil Mrs. Jakob out of the house and rescue his new friend, the street dog Muck.

Linda Lano loves her job in an advertising agency and she also loves the men. But most men think of them as machos, as does charming big business Mike Badon. She expresses this bluntly and thus puts the success of their agency on the line. The widowed Mike is intrigued by the idiosyncratic Linda. When it sparks between the two, however, the attractive Susanne Badon appears. Since Linda misses the supposedly faithless Mike the pass. Linda only realizes that Susanne is Mike's younger sister when it's almost too late.

The wealthy industrialist Ernst Schmitt has to take a step back for health reasons. But first he wants to arrange his succession, as he doesn't trust the manager of his chocolate factory. Without further ado, he pretends that his chauffeur is his millionaire boss and that he is his own driver. This allows him to uncover the factory manager's machinations unobserved...
